Albright Knot

Albright Knot

A very simple line-to-line knot, ideal for joining a leader to main line without using a swivel. The albright is a relatively compact knot suited to light - medium line classes.

1. Create an open loop in the heavier line (yellow). Thread the lighter line (pink) through the loop.

2. Start wrapping the pink line back over the yellow loop and itself.

3. Continue wrapping back towards the loop.

4. Wrap at least 10 times.

5. Thread the pink line back through the remaining yellow loop, ensuring to exit on the same side first entered.

6. Moisten the lines, and slowly work the knot tight.

7. Ensure the knot is firmly bedded down, and then trim any tag ends.
